The result of this research shows the economic and clinical benefits of the use of different pharmacological treatments for adult kidney transplant recipients in Colombia, considering the years of life gained and organ rejection avoided. Tacrolimus and cyclosporine are the most used options in clinical practice for maintenance therapy and are included in the cost-effective schemes. Across the different sets of evidence, tacrolimus+mycophenolate mofetil+corticosteroids, cyclosporine + mycophenolate mofetil+corticosteroids, and cyclosporine+ azathioprine+corticosteroids proved to be the cost-effective strategies in most comparisons.
